Recovery Worker
A new 24 hours Mental Health Service is coming to Stockport through partnership of Stockport CCG & Making Space.
With the current statistics telling us that 1 in 4 people will suffer with Mental Health, getting the right support in the right place at the right time is vital.
The Safe Haven Crisis Centre is a much-needed service Opening in Stockport
in spring 2020
As Recovery Worker you will provide compassionate, person-centred and recovery focused care and support, which enables people to build their resilience, coping strategies and ability to self-manage their wellbeing.
Salary:
£9.17 per hour
Hours:
Part time and Full time contracts available. The service will be open from 8.30am-9pm 7 days per week and the full time contract is 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will work with people accessing the service to develop personalised WRAP and Safety Plans, tailored advice and information, and provide time-limited practical support.
- To work alongside Peer Support Workers and Volunteers.
- Undertake partnership working, signposting and onwards referrals so that people attending the service can access all of the specialist, universal and targeted support.
- Collect and record data in the service on a daily basis.
- Have a working knowledge and understanding of diversity of mental health conditions and related issues including barriers faced by service users.
- Support the manager and team in developing and promoting the service.
- Work as a team and lone work, and participate in a 7 day per week rota which may include evening and weekend working.
- Complete administration duties in line with agreed timescales, policy and procedures.
- Work in and open and honest way maintaining professionalism at all times
About You:
- Experience of working within a health and social care setting.
- Diploma Level 3 (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults.
- Have a positive outlook on life and a passion to care for others
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in the written form
- Knowledge of understanding of mental health conditions.
- Experience of using IT for a range of different purposes
- Motivated to work towards creating a safe, open and trusting environment.
- Take pride in your work, exceptional attention to detail and reliability are essential.
- Be creative, resourceful with the ability to think out of the box
